Episode 29: Embracing The Fear, Power & Beauty in Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond
In this episode, we talk to Sophie Burch aka The Mamma Coach, about the joy, the trauma, the fear, the beauty, the confidence and the tumultuous journey of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. After being told she couldn't conceive children, Sophie went on to become a Mum of 4 beautiful kids and a perinatal therapist and coach. She shares raw, honest insights from her own birthing experiences (all of which were extremely different) and talks about her experience of Post-Natal Depression and PTSD from a traumatic birth. As a survivor, Sophie is now on a mission to put mental wellbeing on the map in pregnancy, birth, and parenting. Her experience has shaped who she is and awakened her to a life of compassion and deep empathy for everyone from pre-conception to parenting. Her approach is simple: to allow people to feel held and heard, safe and worthy of love. Sophie believes that our strength comes from self-love, compassion, and kindness, which is her ethos. Keep an eye out for her upcoming ebook - Beyond Birth: A Mindful Guide for Early Parenting, which will help people have a more balanced, positive experience as they transition from pregnancy to parenting. She offers online and in-person coaching, for individuals and groups.
